By Definition William's Syndrome is "..a rare genetic disorder.It occurs in approx. 1 in 20,000 live births when a small amount of genetic material is "lost" on an individual's chromosome #7. This deletion occurs spontaneously. It is not inherited, and parents (unless one or both have WS) are not carriers of the deletion. "
